A Travellerspoint blog

A chilly afternoon in Yosemite

I probably won't be on here too long since I'm out on the balcony and the clouds have started to roll back over the valley again...my fingers are getting cold! Dad and I did a nice little lodge-to-village via the Lower Falls yesterday on arrival, checked back in to the room, and then spend the evening in front of the fire in the Mountain Room with some bourbon and magazines. We then woke up this morning and took a jaunt over from the lodge to Curry, then up to the Vernal Falls bridge, back down to Mirror Lake, and then back to the lodge by way of the Awahnee and the village again. We thought it would be a good idea to grab a sandwich at the deli, but so did everyone else...we opted to grab some pre-made lunchables and head back to the room with our coffee instead.

I'll post some pictures soon, some from when we were up a few weeks ago and some from this weekend. It has been quite pretty even though the leaves have pretty much already changed. There's water in the falls and the clouds make for a lovely fall weekend. I'm glad I'll get to come back up in winter with friends!
